Love My Neighbors

Their homestead is gorgeous and people from all over the trails drive up, or walk, our steep hill just to look at it.
They have 2 horses, Merlin and Genius. A pool, a HUGE garage that most people mistake for the house and every tool, tractor & piece of equiptment you could imagine.

But MORE important then all their stuff is them. Wayne and Amy are nice people. They don't have any children, they are both airline pilots.

A couple weeks ago, they did something VERY nice for us. It was superbowl sunday and Wayne was out doing some yard work before the big game. We walked over and chatted for a while. They complimented us on our efforts to clear away much of the overgrowth that had accumulated over the last 22 years. It's been a lot of work. Sweat equity.

We told him about our newest project to put in a lawn. Grass!! I can't wait! But it means renting a tiller, bringing in lots of good dirt, digging trenches for sprinkler lines and finally...saud!!

Wayne hopped on his tractor and drove over to see our front yard. He said "I can do this. You don't need to rent a tiller. It shouldn't take more than an hour. In fact, just let me do a couple things and I'll be right back and we can get this done today."
"You might miss the beginning..." I warned.
"Na, I've got TiVo." He smiled.
"Of course you do!"

In no time that dirt was ripped to shreds.

He also offered manure to mix with the dirt. So...I'd better get to digging trenches for the sprinklers. When??

I told them I'd bring over dinner sometime.
He said "Bring over some meat and we'll have a BBQ!"

maybe this summer...can you believe his pool isn't heated!!
Well, I hope today is good. I'm bringing over my famous Chicken Pot Pie.
:-)
