For Denise

So I was talking to my wonderful friend, Denise, and our conversation was something like this...

There are times when ideas pop into your head. Intentions to call a friend just to see how they are doing...sending out a thank you card to another or doing something even grander...like actually planning a day together to go shopping. But somehow our lives get caught up in the day to day routines and our lofty thoughts of care get left by the wayside.
What are we left with?
Guilt.

"Oh hi (insert friend's name here), I've been meaning to call you..."

The funny thing is...your friend doesn't know you've been hauling around these feelings of guilt. No, she's been too busy stressing about her own wayside agenda.
Why do we do this to ourselves?
Don't we know that ANY thing we do to show love and kindness is appreciated?

Denise, here is the quote I couldn't remember earlier today...

"Generosity lies less in giving much than in giving at the right moment." -Jean De La Bruyere

We don't need to beat ourselves up over unfulfilled intentions of kindness. I don't think true friends are sitting at home wondering why their "so called friends" haven't brought over a care basket yet!

If you do something nice for me...I will thank you.
If you think of something, but just don't get to it...it's okay...just say "o'well".
Your not my friend because of what you do or don't do.

Your my friend because you let me be.
I love my friends.

A blessing for me you are.
(even if we go weeks with only an occasional wave from our windshield)

So, when do ya want to go thrift store shopping?!?
hahaha. :)
