Fresh Dips
That's it!!
Today I installed the closet organizer. Then I came to realize a fresh dip in the pool was over due. Megan and I just walked through the door. Even though the water temp was higher than normal, it felt good. We haven't been down to the pool as much this summer as I would have liked. Well, except for swim team. But that's not for me.
Monday was nice. Twice a week (Monday & Friday) Katie has soccer practice at Lotus Field (above picture). It sits right on the American River. Just beautiful.
I was trying to read (Harry Potter) but the chit chat from the other parents behind me was making my session less than enjoyable. So with my book in tow, I abandon my folding chair in search of a quieter and cooler place.
I found it. Down the embankment, under a tree, sitting on an old support beam that used to hold a bridge I think??
My feet, up to my knees, bobbled in the ice cold water that rushed over them. Instantly my legs knew revival and the sticky sweat that covered them washed away. With temps over 100 degrees, this moment was Heaven!
I didn't mind the sound of screaming teenagers as their voices echoed from downstream. I didn't mind the rafters rushing by in boats ranging from kyacks to canoes. The sun glittered along the rushing water and I smiled, giving my thanks for this beautiful world.
