"The abundant life does not come to those who have had a lot of obstacles removed from their path by others. It develops from within and is rooted in strong mental and moral fiber."

Blessings for all

The other day I recieved this email from Pastor Tim's wife...

Hi Kathy,

This is Debbie, Tim's wife. He called me from SF Saturday evening and told
me about the flight. I shared this story with our congregation on Sunday AM
and told them that we serve such an awesome God; a God that cared enough
about one flight attendant to clear the whole plane so my husband could be a
blessing to her!

Feel free to write anytime; not sure where you station out of but if ever in
Boise for any period of time, please contact us! We are continuing to pray
for you.

Thanks also for the pictures!

May God bless and continue to order your steps,

Debbie

HAVE FAITH FOLKS! God cares.

I have one more quick story...Today a girl came onboard and she was wiping her face. I asked if those were tears on her face. She knodded. I asked if she needed a hug and she quickly reached her arms out for me. Before we took off she asked if I would be providing a beverage. I said yes. She said that she hadn't eaten all day.
Soon after we took off, I walked back to her seat and gave her a crew meal (the first class black box). We are not even supposed to get those, but I offered it to her anyway. She smiled. I told her she has much to pretty of a face to be crying. After all my passengers were served, I invited her up to the galley if she'd like to talk. She hopped out of her seat so fast and followed me up there!
I thought she was older, but it turned out that she was 16 and been through quite a bit for a girl her age. She was sad because her visit with her mom was over and she would not see her again for another year. She lives with her grandparents in AZ. We talked a bunch about some pretty deep stuff. As she deplaned, I gave her another hug and told her that she is a very beautiful person with a good heart and to be strong! She said I was very easy to talk to and wanted to give me her email address.
I plan on sending her a message soon. Clearly God brings people together for a reason. I guess this girl needs me. I'll try not to let her down.

Church at 30,000 feet

World: Meet Pastor Tim and his son, Jesse

God has been talking to lately and I really want to share this with you.
The other day I had a flight from Boise, Idaho to San Francisco, Ca. We were supposed to have 5 passengers. Instead I had only 2. I welcomed Pastor Tim and his son, Jesse onboard their own private jet! It was very cool. I actually messed up my announcements because I wasn't used to not using the PA. But they didn't care. They smiled and enjoyed my company. We spent the entire flight (which turned out to be 2 hours because of getting stuck in a holding pattern) getting to know each other. Jesse is incredibly gifted with the guitar. His church will certainly miss him. We took them to SFO so he could connect onto Austrailia where he will attend college to study music.

Ron- you're going to be VERY jealous!! He got out his guitar and played during flight. It was awesome!! Also have you noticed the similarity? Ron, you look just like this kid!

Let me back up for a moment. The morning of this day, I had been sitting in the hot tub at the hotel in San Jose. I was thinking that I missed going to church. I actually asked God if he would help me find one in Palm Springs. Well, I ended getting a horrible headache and wasn't able to get out of the room in Palm Springs. I believe God knew this would happen and actually brought Church to me at 30,000 feet!
Pastor Tim asked me if there was anything that he could pray with me about. Of course I said, "Oh heck yes!" I then spilled all my concerns to him about MB. Right there we held hands and lifted Michael to God in prayer. I was moved by the spirit and had to fight back my tears.

All I have to say is that God is good. All the time...GOD IS SO GOOD!

There is another thing that weights heavily on my mind...the guy I am dating is loosing his father. They thought he would not make it through last night. It will be soon and I just wish I could ease the pain for him. So many people I care about is suffering. I pray for peace and healing.

Vote for Me!

I'm sure you'd vote for me if you could, right?

I'm running to be a SIA representative. Ron is running too! He would be a good choice as well, so if I don't get it, I hope he does.

I have so many things to tell you. Of course that's what happens when you go so long without posting. I'll have to break this down...

Job- I already told you...SIA rep. There is currently an online debate in full swing and Ron & I are trying our best to keep up with the questions. Election time is from July 21-31st. The winner to be announced Aug. 1st. As for the rest of my job...it's great! I'm still loving it and having fun. I'm in San Jose right now. Tonight is Palm Springs.

Writing- still going full steam ahead. Everything from my story and little short clips from other stories I want to write to more SIA articles and jumpseat poetry. My thoughts are a flutter.

Running- I've run 4 times this week so far. I planned on running today and maybe I still will if I can get myself out of this very comfy bed! I've motified my running schedule a bit. I recently decided to shorten my workouts but give it more intensity and do them more often. 20 minutes at greater speed at least 5 times a week. By the time I'm in the last minute I'm up to 8.0 mph. Unfortunately all treadmill running these days.
I still like it though.

The house- still on the market and not selling.

MB- I guess he got a job in the town we used to live in before Sacramento. I am happy for him. I hope it works out.

Court- that's a mess. MB needs a new lawyer before anything else can really move forward. The judge doesn't want to do anything without his lawyer present and of course he was busy on the 5th. Now the guys on vacation for a month! MB- dump that over priced high and mighty no good lawyer!

My apartment- Through the grace of God I am finally getting to give my girls a bedroom! Of course they have to share...but it's a bedroom! No more sleeping in the dining/living room on an air mattress. Next month I will move my stuff across the complex into a 2 bedroom unit. The great news is it will only cost me $50.00 more than I pay now. If I get the SIA rep job, I'll have to start paying for internet. Therefore I'm thinking about getting my fancy nails taken off. It costs a lot to maintain them. Maybe someday I can have them back.

BTW- This picture was taken the other day at the house. It's not very often (incredible rare) that I get to see Valena. She's doing well.

Whoops- other things I've forgotten to mention:

I saw Air Force One in ABQ last month. We taxied right by it. Actually it was Chaney that visited so it wasn't really Air Force One, huh. More like Air Force 2.

I go back to the doctor next week for a re-pap. I'll let you know how that goes.

Right now I wish I was in advertising. I've got a great idea for a coffee commercial!
