Serendipity

A fortunate accident...or fate.

The idea that all things happen for a purpose...a plan.

I would call it 'God's plan'.

Even though I believe that we have free choice...it is also possible that choices are presented to us by the one who knows us best. He knows what we would most likely choose. That isn't to say that wrong choices aren't also there. They are. But the Bible says that He will not let us endure more temptation than we can handle. That's a clue. Doesn't He have our best interest at heart? Yes. He is The Father. Like many fathers, he wants what is best for his children. Many times we pray for something and get it...only to wish later that it were gone. Maybe you made the right choice. Maybe you need to focus. Pray. That's what I do.
What I wish for almost becomes true. I look for it to happen...just the way I asked. Sometimes it does happen that way...sometimes better than I asked...sometimes not at all.

What is lasting?
Love fades. Is that true? Perhaps is just changes. That is fading. A garment that was once black becomes grey...it changed...faded. Though the fire burns brighter just before it goes out.

I just finished watching the movie "Serendipity". Don't you just love that word?
It's bubbly.
Bounces off the tongue.
Are some people that interesting that even after years...you can't push them from your mind?
Is that why some people have such long engagements? As a test? Well, if we are still hot for each other in 5 years...than we'll tie the knot. Then we'll know for sure that it is real.

He writes his name on a five dollar bill and she does the same inside a book.
The book is floating around in some used book store, while the bill is changing hands left and right. Will they ever find each other? If they do, then they are meant to be together.
At first they give up...thinking it's a sign. Until each one is about to wed and suddenly they are filled with memories and questions of "what if?"
Each goes on a quest to find the other.
Of course to make the movie nice and juicy the writers make it so that they keep missing each other by seconds. It drove me bonkers. I kept saying..."no! go that way! She's over there!"
Fate brought them back around to face each other. But don't you see? It didn't just "happen'.
Fate doesn't seem to work unless you act on it. Take a risk.
Or as the friend in the movie said...
"He's a shit."

Best part of the movie?
When John's bride to be gives him the book (the one with mystery girl's name in it) as a wedding gift. It's like she is giving him away and she doesn't even know it.
That's some awsome writing there, man!

Actually, the phrase is "he's THE shit", not "he's A shit". Totally different meaning there hon.

Used in a sentence. Our new living room looks incredible! Kathy did it all by herself. She is the shit!

Probably the only time I will use the words Kathy and shit in the same sentence, so thanks for that :)
