Black Thumb

First this from my daughter Megan...
I like pigs and cats.

Excuse the interruption...Megan was curled up next to me on the coach and she wanted to write something.

Now for this post.
Yesterday I worked on the hallway. Now it's official. The only carpet left in the house is in the downstairs playroom. I also took out the carpet pad, tack strips, staples and laid down the laminate (meaning fake) hardwood floor. I've got to say- I love this material.
When we put in our kitchen, we used the real stuff. Prefinished Brazilian cherry tongue & groove hardwood. It was such a pain in the *~~.
Now in every other room, I've been putting in laminate and it holds up better, is easier to install, looks great, doesn't scratch and the best part...it costs A LOT less. Hurray!!

Denise called last night. I told her how I accidentally hit my thumb with a hammer. She laughed and said, "Now you really are a carpenter...you have a black thumb."
I thought this was hilarious due to the fact that don't have a knack for gardening...I certainly don't have a "green thumb".
Now I know why. It's black.
