Power Animal
A friend of mine went to a soltice party and picked up this card for me....
It read:
"Your personal power animal for 2008 is the Eagle. The Eagle's power includes creativity, vision and extreme experiences. These experiences can be transforming under the eye of the Eagle so stay connected with the earth even as you soar with the gods and bring a new vision for humanity."

Very cool! As a semi-pagan agnostic (or a semi-agnostic pagan, depends what day you catch me) I wish you lots of Bright Blessings for 2008 as well.
Some years ago I went for a walk on the conservation land behind our neighborhood just at sunset, and I saw a huge owl perch in a tree, then fly down across the brook on wide silent wings. Since then I've liked to think I have a kinship with owls. I've seen three more recently (I'm pretty sure based on size and color that all four sightings were of different owls), including one (badly -- need camera with better zoom ) pictured on my blog and one hanging out in our across-the-street neighbor's tree that Miss B was the first to spot.
Anyhow. A brightly blessed New Year to you, eagle in flight.
